HYDRO-SCABBLING

Water jets are used to remove the surface of concrete to create a surface profile. This provides a superior bonding surface for the application of new concrete, mortars, coatings etc. This process is interchangeably called: scabbling; scarification; and is also occasionally called scrabbling.

ABOUT HYDRO-SCABBLING

Water jets are used to remove the surface of concrete to create a surface profile. This provides a superior bonding surface for the application of new concrete, mortars, coatings etc. This process is interchangeably called: scabbling; scarification; and is also occasionally called scrabbling.

Hydro-scabbling is an alternative to pneumatic/hydraulic hammers and dry garnet blasting.

It can be achieved using a water-only jet, or a water + garnet jet.

Either can be used in conjunction with a hand lance or a robotic system.
